The Holding Plate

A 7-week creative healing workshop exploring how our attachment styles shape our relationship with food — and how we can reshape them through clay.

Through guided reflection with a trauma-informed registered dietitian and hands-on clay work with a local potter, participants will craft plates that represent their personal food stories. Together, we’ll explore the ways we hold, protect, and share nourishment — and what it means to be fed, body and soul.

By the end of The Holding Plate participants will:

  • Gain insight into how attachment patterns shape their relationship with food and self.

  • Build greater compassion and awareness around eating, emotion, and nourishment.

  • Experience mindfulness and emotional grounding through hands-on clay work.

  • Strengthen connection between body, emotion, and creativity in a supportive community setting.

  • Create 3 personalized plates symbolizing their unique food story and capacity to receive nourishment.

Disclaimer: This space is intended for reflection, creativity, and connection — not for formal therapy. The process may bring up meaningful emotions or insights, and participants are invited to engage at their own pace. Those seeking clinical support are encouraged to continue or begin that work alongside this experience.
