The Holding Plate

A collaboration with ReStory Counseling

An invitation to shape what nourishes you — body and soul.

What if you could explore your relationship with food, not through rules or plans, but through your hands? The Holding Plate is a 7-week creative experience where we’ll gently uncover how our attachment patterns shape the ways we seek, hold, and share nourishment — and how we can explore those patterns through clay.

Together, with the guidance of a trauma-informed registered dietitian and a local potter, you’ll move between reflection and creation — forming plates that tell the story of your own relationship with nourishment. Each week, we’ll listen to the wisdom of our bodies, notice the ways we protect or reach for food and comfort, and find new ways to receive care through mindful, embodied creativity.

By the end of our time together, you will have created three personal plates — each one a symbol of your evolving food story and capacity to receive nourishment with gentleness and grace. You’ll leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of how attachment influences your relationship with food and self.

  • Greater compassion and awareness around eating, emotion, and embodiment.

  • Tools for mindfulness and grounding through tactile, creative practice.

  • A renewed connection between body, emotion, and creativity — within a supportive, shared space.

You’re invited to come as you are — curious, open, and ready to hold what nourishes.
